NFL picks Week 9: Bills vs. Texans

Experts weigh in on who will win the Week 9 showdown between the Bills and Texans.

Thomas B. Shea

The AFC-best Houston Texas will square off this Sunday against the 3-4 Buffalo Bills at Reliant Stadium in Houston, and experts are favoring the Texans.

Buffalo is coming off a bye week, which they used to recover from a last-minute, 35-34 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 21. The Bills sport the NFL's fourth-best rushing offense behind C.J. Spiller and and Fred Jackson. Spiller is averaging 7.3 yards per carry through seven games.

The Texans also byed in week eight after a 43-13 blowout win over the Baltimore Ravens. Houston's offense is one of the league's most potent, scoring 31 points per game. The Texans are 6-1 for a reason, adding a defense that is No. 3 in the league to its offense.

Experts across the Internet are leaning heavily toward Houston, but a few think Buffalo is ready to spring an upset. At CBSSports.com, six pickers have Houston with the win, but Mike Freeman and Dave Richard have marked down a victory for the Bills.

At Yahoo! Sports, all three predictors and a majority of Yahoo! users are all picking the Texans. The OddsShark prediction machine not only has Houston winning, but also covering the 11-point spread.
