Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyron Smith may be dealing with some startling off-field issues. His family is allegedly harassing him for money, even after they reportedly received a large sum when he signed his rookie contract with the Cowboys after the 2011 draft.
Cowboys’ Tyron Smith battles family over money
A police report obtained by the Dallas Morning News says Tyron Smith called 911 after being “harassed and tormented.”

Smith filled a protective order against his mother, Frankie Pinkney, and stepfather, Roy Pinkney, this summer. The two own a cleaning business in Riverside, Calif., about two and a half hours from the Cowboys training camp facility in Oxnard. One of Smith’s family members was allegedly removed from the facility during training camp before this season.
Smith worked in the cleaning business with his mother and stepfather growing up. He has two brothers and three sisters who are also prohibited from speaking to Smith on behalf of his mother and stepfather.
One of Smith’s attorneys, John Schorsch, told the Dallas Morning News Smith called the police because he felt he had to.
“Lesser means were tried and they weren’t successful. You can use your own imagination as to what it took for a guy that big and that imposing to be that worried.”
Smith was the ninth overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. His signed a four-year, $12.5 million contract with the Cowboys.
