Chargers vs. Buccaneers 2012: Bucs win with full team effort

Offense, defense and special teams all stepped up at times in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers victory over the San Diego Chargers, Sunday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came from behind Sunday afternoon take beat the San Diego Chargers 34-24 at Raymond James Stadium. Tampa Bay trailed 21-17 at halftime and used big plays on both offense and defense to comeback for the victory.

The offense didn't rack up a ton of yards, Josh Freeman threw for a modest 210 yards and Doug Martin came back to earth after last week's amazing performance. The defense wasn't great. Phillip Rivers picked the Buccaneers defense apart for 337 yards and three touchdowns. Still, the Buccaneers battled back behind a Freeman touchdown pass to Tiquan Underwood and a Leonard Johnson 83 yard interception return for a touchdown.

Sander Philipse of Bucs Nation writes that the Buccaneers’ win was courtesy of a total team effort, with the offense showing up at times, the defense showing up when it needed to and the special teams showing up when the defense failed.

These Tampa Bay Buccaneers won’t disappoint. Despite an awful defensive display for most of the game, the Bucs managed a solid 34-24 win over the San Diego Chargers. Two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown, sealed the victory, as the Bucs offense was efficient on just eight possessions.

The Buccaneers travel to Carolina and take on the Panthers next Sunday.
