Brady Quinn injury: Chiefs QB practices after all

Quarterback Brady Quinn practiced for the Kansas City Chiefs’ on Wednesday after missing the past two games with a concussion.

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

After missing the past two games with a concussion that he suffered in Week 8, Brady Quinn returned to practice for the Kansas Chiefs on Wednesday.

Quinn was named the permanent starter heading into Week 8 but the injury has derailed his chances of playing this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. While he is allowed to practice, Quinn can't be cleared to play until the weekend, which is why Romeo Crennel already announced it will be Matt Cassel who gets the start.

In his eight games, Cassel has struggled, leading the Chiefs to only one win. He's thrown for 1,703 passing yards, six touchdowns and 12 interceptions. This past weekend, in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cassel led Kansas City down the field for a game-tying field goal at the end of regulation, only to throw an interception in overtime that led to a Steelers game-winning kick.

While Dwayne Bowe, Dontari Powe and Steve Maneri also practiced in a limited capacity, Jon Baldwin and Jon Asamoah sat out and will not play Sunday.
