A Rochester-area Bills fan was found dead early on Friday morning, according to the Buffalo News. The 26-year-old man was reportedly ejected from the Bills-Dolphins game on Thursday night for being intoxicated. He was later discovered face down in a creek.

When his friends could not find or reach him after the game, they reported the case to the authorities. Police officers were able to use a “ping” from the missing fan’s cell phone to help locate him. At this time, law enforcement is not releasing the name of the deceased fan.

At 5:25 a.m. on Friday, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office began using its helicopter to assist in the search, which ended at around 7:20 a.m. The missing man was eventually located face down in Smoke’s Creek near Shadow Lane, which is roughly four miles from the Bills’ Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Orchard Park police continue to investigate.
