Matt Schaub vs. Chad Henne has become the unlikely quarterback duel of the afternoon, as Henne (filling in for an injured Blaine Gabbert) is throwing the football extremely well against a vaunted Texans defense. Meanwhile, Schaub and Andre Johnson are in step and keeping this game close.
Jaguars vs. Texans: Matt Schaub and Chad Henne engaged in unexpected duel
Jacksonville’s backup QB is keeping this one unexpectedly close.

With just eight pass attempts, Henne already has 180 yards passing and two touchdowns. First finding Marcedes Lewis on a 13-yard touchdown, and then Cecil Shorts III on a 67-yard bomb, the Jaguars are giving the Texans unexpected headaches early on. Houston's secondary doesn't appear prepared to deal with Henne, or Gabbert, struggling with each.
You can't count out the Texans' deep-ball offense, though. Schaub has 124 yards passing and two touchdowns himself, finding Keshawn Martin and James Casey for scores. It's the 89 receiving yards from Johnson that have made the difference.
