Eagles vs. Redskins, Week 11: ‘The Redskins needed a win like this’

The Washington Redskins had lost three straight coming into their matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles but 14-for-15 passing by Robert Griffin III and a defensive effort that held Philadelphia without a touchdown earned Washington the win.

The Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles were both riding losing streaks entering their game Sunday, but Robert Griffin III ensured his team would come out on top with four passing touchdowns in a 31-6 victory.

Griffin's performance earned him the nickname "RG4" from Hogs Haven in their postgame reaction, as the rookie completed 14 of 15 attempts for 200 yards in a blowout win. He added a team-high 84 yards rushing while completing passes to nine different receivers. On the other side of the ball, the Redskins' defense dominated, keeping Philadelphia out of the end zone and forcing Nick Foles - starting his first career game with Michael Vick out with a concussion - into 25 incompletions and two picks. Redskins blogger Kevin Ewoldt summarized the way the fanbase felt about the game:

A very solid game by the Redskins today. Pre-game the Junkies were saying the Redskins need a blowout win. Coming off a BYE facing a team in shambles....at home...the Redskins needed a win like this.

To fully soak in the victory, Ewoldt also posted an additional recap of the game composed entirely of .GIFs from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, although Eagles fans will probably disagree with that sentiment right about now.
