AFC North injury report: Terence Newman, Ziggy Hood, Dennis Pitta all hurt on Sunday

There were various notable injuries across the AFC North on Sunday.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens are known to have just about the hardest-hitting, nastiest rivalry in the NFL, and the injury reports after Sunday night's game would indicate that nothing has changed. The Steelers had four key contributors hurt in the game, though Byron Leftwich -- whose rib injury was notably affecting him -- did not leave the contest. Other Steelers, though, were not so lucky.

Chief among them was defensive lineman Ziggy Hood, who left the game with an injured back, the severity of which is currently unknown. Pittsburgh returned Rashard Mendenhall to the lineup, but also lost two running backs on Sunday night. Isaac Redman left the game in the second quarter with a concussion, and Barron Batch, his replacement, later exited with a left foot injury.

The Ravens didn't escape unharmed, either. Top tight end Dennis Pitta was forced out with a concussion on the team's first series, which didn't help a Baltimore offense that had trouble moving the ball all night. Pitta's status going forward is also unknown.

The Cincinnati Bengals, meanwhile, eased to a 28-6 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, but top cornerback Terence Newman left the game in the third quarter after suffering a concussion. It's unclear how long Newman might be out.

The Cleveland Browns lost a heartbreaker to the Dallas Cowboys, but did escape the game without injury.
