NFL injury report, NFC North: OT Jeff Backus could be out

Lions’ offensive tackle Jeff Backus missed the second half against the Green Bay Packers, and could miss Detroit’s next game, which is on Thursday.

Detroit Lions' offensive tackle Jeff Backus left early against the Green Bay Packers with a right hamstring injury on Sunday. Backus has started 186 consecutive games, dating back to 2001. Coach Jim Schwartz expressed concern about the veteran's status for Detroit's Thanksgiving day game against the Houston Texans. Riley Reiff, the 2012 first-round pick, is likely to fill in at left tackle if Backus is unavailable.

The Chicago Bears quarterback situation may have gone from bad to worse on Monday night, as Jason Campbell was slow to get up after several of the six sacks he took. With starter Jay Cutler out, third-string quarterback Josh McCown started loosening up, but never made it into the game.

Rather than losing any players to injury, the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers are likely to get some players back next week. Green Bay hopes to see the return of linebacker Clay Matthews and wide receiver Greg Jennings. The Vikings expected wide receiver Percy Harvin to be back in Week 12 following their bye week, but he was unable to practice on Monday, as his ankle was too sore.
