With 5.5 sacks on Monday Night Football, Aldon Smith was a dominant force for the 49ers and earned himself the NFC Defensive Player of the Week Award. Among the other player of the week award winners announced on Wednesday, fellow first round selection in the 2011 NFL Draft, Von Miller, was the winner of the AFC Defensive Player of the Week Award.

Miller helped the Broncos to victory with three sacks and two forced fumbles against the Chargers. On offense, the awards were given to a pair of quarterbacks that put up gaudy stats in Week 11. Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III earned the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award after finishing Sunday's domination of the Eagles with a perfect, 158.3 passer rating as he completed 14-of-15 passes for 200 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.

While Matt Schaub didn't have the mistake-free day that Griffin did as he threw two interceptions, he set a career-high in passing with 527 yards and five touchdowns, including a game-winning, 48-yard pass to Andre Johnson in overtime. The yardage tied the second most all-time in a single game and earned the 31-year old the AFC Offensive Player of the Week Award.

Rounding out the players of the week, Bills punt returner Leodis McKelvin earned the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after he returned a 79-yard punt for a touchdown against the Dolphins. Kicker Dan Bailey of the Cowboys earned the honor for the NFC after he kicked three successful field goals against the Browns, including one at the end of regulation and a game-winning kick in overtime.
