The Atlanta Falcons jumped on the New Orleans Saints right out of the gate on Thursday night, and, in earning the 23-13 win, engineered one of their more impressive wins of the season so far, according to one Falcons blogger.
Saints vs. Falcons, Week 13: Atlanta gets ‘signature win’ over New Orleans
In shutting down Drew Brees and defeating the Saints on Thursday night, the Falcons got their best win of the season, according to one Atlanta blogger.

Dave Choate of SB Nation’s The Falcoholic wrote after the contest that it may have been a roller coaster ride, but impressive nonetheless:
It was a trademark Falcons-Saints game, full of crazy momentum swings and turnovers, but in the end the Falcons put together their finest defensive effort of the year and held on in part due to a complete meltdown of a game from Drew Brees. Considering how angry I was at points during this game-we'll have time to talk about that later, but I'm celebrating too hard right now-having this team walk off the field with a 10 point win was nothing short of phenomenal.
Atlanta had a hand in one of Saints quarterback Drew Brees' worst games as a pro, as he threw a career-high five interceptions and saw his streak of consecutive games with a touchdown pass end at 54, as New Orleans' only touchdown came via a 1-yard run from Mark Ingram.
Choate mentions that the Falcon offense, playing against a vulnerable Saints defense, was at times underwhelming and shaky.
He adds, though, that the overall victory was too enjoyable to be too upset about anything:
The week and a half between now and the next game gives the banged-up birds time to recuperate. It virtually knocks the Saints out of playoff contention. And while there are plenty of worry spots to poke at and plenty of reasons for analysts to continue to be skeptical, it was without a doubt the year’s best win. It will nourish me for weeks.
The Falcons stay in the division in Week 14, as they will head to Carolina to take on the Panthers on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. ET.
