Panthers vs. Redskins: Steve Smith extends Carolina reception record

2006 was a simpler time for the world. A time of prosperity, a time of much-missed success for the Carolina Panthers. It was also the last time Steve Smith didn't catch a ball.

With a reception today against the Washington Redskins, the streak was kept alive. It's been going strong since Dec. 31, 2006 and is a franchise record. Three 1,000-yard seasons later, Smith remains the Panthers' best receiver, and one modicum of success the Panthers can hang their hats on.
