AFC East injury report: Aaron Williams, Stevie Johnson injured Week 9 loss

Two of Buffalo’s top skill players were injured in the team’s loss to the Texans on Sunday and could miss more time.

The Buffalo Bills dropped to 3-5 on the season after their 21-9 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday, and they may be without a few of the their top players when they take the field next week. Both cornerback Aaron Williams and wide receiver Stevie Johnson were injured in the loss on Sunday, and their statuses for next week's game against the New England Patriots are still up in the air.

Williams, Buffalo's top corner, injured his right knee in the second half on Sunday after becoming entangled with Texans receiver Andre Johnson. Williams stayed down for several minutes before being helped off the field and was seen on crutches after the game. He will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury, but could be out for several games.

The prognosis for Johnson, Buffalo's star wideout, is less severe, but nonetheless problematic for Buffalo. Johnson was inadvertently kneed in the thigh by Texans safety Glover Quin in the second quarter, and though he only missed a few plays, he didn't make a catch after the injury. Bills head coach Chan Gailey said that the injury affected Johnson throughout the game, and there is some concern that the injury could jeopardize Johnson's Week 10 status.

Elsewhere around the AFC East, the Miami Dolphins lost a heartbreaker to the Indianapolis Colts, but escaped the game with no major injuries. Starting defensive tackle Paul Soliai suffered what appeared to be a concussion but returned later in the game. The Patriots and New York Jets were both off on Sunday.
