AFC North injury report: Teams escape Week 9 with no new injuries

The Cleveland Browns were missing five players in their 25-15 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Cornerback Dimitri Patterson was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain in Week 5 and has been unable to play in Cleveland's last four games. Defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin aggravated a calf injury in Week 7 and missed the team's last two games.

Offensive tackle Ryan Miller has been dealing with an illness and has missed the last two games, along with cornerback Tashaun Gipson, who is dealing with a lingering knee injury. Wide receiver Josh Cooper has been dealing with a thigh issue and was inactive on Sunday. Cleveland hopes to have all five players back in time for its next game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11.

The Baltimore Ravens were also able to leave the game with no new injuries. The team has two injured players it hopes to return against the Oakland Raiders in Week 10. Defensive end Pernell McPhee was ruled inactive with a lingering thigh injury while wide receiver David Reed is out indefinitely while recovering from a torn ACL.

The Cincinnati Bengals have only two long-term injuries, and hope that one can return this week against the Houston Texans in Week 10. Defensive back Jason Allen has been limited in practice due to a thigh injury and missed his fifth straight game this Sunday. Allen is questionable against the Texans this week. Wide receiver Marvin Jones is out indefinitely after tearing his MCL in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a number of players who are banged up that they hope can return in time for their Week 10 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Linebacker Stevenson Sylvester and running back Jonathan Dwyer were ruled inactive Sunday after being limited with a hamstring and groin injury, and are questionable for Sunday's game.

Running back Rashard Mendenhall has been out with an Achilles injury he suffered in Week 6, and he has been unable to play since. Safety Troy Polamalu aggravated a calf injury in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles and has missed the last four games due to it. Both players are questionable for their game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Steelers also have two players dealing with long-term injuries who will be unable to play this week. Offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert suffered ligament damage in Week 6 and is expected to miss the next few weeks as he recovers. Offensive guard David DeCastro is expected to miss significant time after suffering a dislocated kneecap, torn MCL, and a partially torn patellar tendon in his right knee.
