Fresh off their bye week, the New York Jets will hit the road to face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, but opened as the underdog by nearly a touchdown.

The Seahawks opened as a 5.5-point favorite against the Jets, with the line moving as high as 7.5 points, according to OddsShark.com. Seattle has been very good at home this season, going 4-0 both straight up and against the spread. Dating back to last season, the Seahawks are 12-2 against the spread in their last 14 home games, including a current streak of 7-0.

The total for the game opened at 38.5 points, a number that could be in line to go over based on recent history. The total has gone over in 18 of the Jets’ last 23 road games and eight of Seattle’s last 11 home games. Although the Seahawks are favored, the Jets have won five of their last six games against Seattle.

Seattle has won six of its last seven home games, but the Jets have not fared well on the road recently. New York has lost nine of its last 12 road games, going 4-8 against the spread over that stretch.
