Brandon Jacobs, 49ers part ways, according to report

Jacobs was reportedly seen loading his things into a car at the 49ers facility today.

Ed Szczepanski-US PRESSWIRE

It has been a tumultuous season for Brandon Jacobs and the San Francisco 49ers. After being injured to start the year, Jacobs was healthy in late October but has since played in just two games, racking up five carries for seven yards on the season. He was a healthy scratch against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday after taking to Twitter and Instagram to complain about his situation with the team earlier in the week.

Following Sunday’s win, head coach Jim Harbaugh didn’t address Jacobs’ situation and now we may know why.

Soon after Bonagura's tweet was sent, Matt Maiocco of Comcast SportsNet said Jacobs was seen loading a box into his car.

Jacobs watched as rookie running back LaMichael James and running back Anthony Dixon made their debuts for the 49ers. James picked up 30 yards on eight carries and caught one pass for 15 yards while Dixon carried the ball twice, including a one-yard touchdown run. Jacobs signed with the 49ers this offseason after spending the previous seven seasons of his career with the New York Giants.
