After taking to Twitter and Instagram last week and complaining about his situation with the San Francisco 49ers, running back Brandon Jacobs was a healthy scratch against the Miami Dolphins. Jacobs used social media to express his displeasure with the way his season was going and this week, he watched as rookie running back LaMichael James and running back Anthony Dixon carried the back-up work load. After the game, head coach Jim Harbaugh had no comment as to why Jacobs was scratched and he echoed that again today.
Brandon Jacobs suspended, not released by 49ers
Jacobs has carried the ball just five times this season for the 49ers, and his public displeasure with his lack of playing time has led to conflict with coach Jim Harbaugh.

Now, we know why. Jacobs has been suspended for the final three games of the season. Jacobs was injured for the early part of the season but had played in just two games in the last month and a half. He signed with the 49ers this offseason after spending the previous seven seasons with the New York Giants. No word if Jacobs' suspension extends to the postseason should the 49ers hold on to their lead in the NFC West.
