Redskins vs. Browns 2012: Kirk Cousins leads Washington to win

Kirk Cousins had 329 yards passing in the Washington Redskins’ fifth straight win, as they scored 28 second half points for an easy win over the Cleveland Browns.

Robert Griffin III was hurt, but a rookie quarterback led the Washington Redskins to a 38-21 victory Sunday over the Cleveland Browns.

The beginning of Kirk Cousins' first ever NFL start wasn't exactly an auspicious one: the fourth-round pick out of Michigan State completed one of his first six passes with an interception that T.J. Ward returned to the six-yard line, setting up a Cleveland score. But after that, Cousins was near perfect: he finished 26-for-37 with 329 yards, murdering the Browns on play action rollout passes. With Cousins at the helm, Cleveland assumed many of those play action plays would end up in the hands of Alfred Morris, who had 87 yards and two touchdowns.

Washington entered the half down 14-10, but you wouldn’t know it from the final scoreline. Besides the short field score in the first quarter, the Redskins defense was lockdown, only allowing one drive the length of the field and one 69-yard touchdown strike with the score out of hand.

Hogs Haven wrote a quick postgame recap, but chose to mainly celebrate the game in .GIF form.
