Jets vs. Titans final score: Mark Sanchez has 5 turnovers in 14-10 loss

New York is eliminated from playoff contention after the Monday night defeat.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets were officially eliminated from the postseason on Monday night with an ugly 14-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans. In the defeat, Mark Sanchez turned the ball over five times, including on the Jets' last two drives.

After falling behind 3-0, the Titans got on the board with a 94-yard touchdown run in the second quarter by Chris Johnson. Tennessee hit halftime with a 7-3 lead.

The Jets scored their only touchdown of the game midway through the third quarter when Sanchez connected with Jeff Cumberland for a 13-yard score. But on the Titans' next possession, Jake Locker had a 13-yard touchdown run to give the Titans a 14-10 lead.

New York had a few chances to win late, but Sanchez threw his fourth interception of the game with just under two minutes remaining and fumbled the snap on the Jets’ final drive.

Fantasy Studs/Duds

In the victory, Johnson had 122 rushing yards for the Titans. Most of that came on a 94-yard run in the second quarter that ended in a touchdown.

Sanchez struggled in the loss. He had four interceptions and one fumble, but he did throw for his first touchdown since Nov. 22. Nevertheless, it was a poor performance.

Odds

The Titans were favored by 1.5 points, so they cover the spread.
