Despite a costly price tag to hang on to him, the Tennessee Titans have already made a decision to keep running back Chris Johnson with the team in 2013, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Michael David Smith of NBC Sports' ProFootballTalk quoted Rapoport as saying that the Titans don't view Johnson as a tough decision at all:

Johnson has three touchdowns of 80 or more yards in 2012.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the Titans fully intend to keep Johnson on the team, with his current contract in place, and pay him that $10 million salary in 2013. According to Rapoport, the Titans think Johnson’s status as the seventh-leading rusher in the NFL this year, as well as his status as the team’s most recognizable star, makes him worth the money.
Johnson, 27, is far removed from the 2,006 rushing yards he accumulated during the 2009 season, but has rebounded in many statistical categories in 2012. After a brutally slow start to the season, Johnson has amassed three touchdowns of 80 or more in 2012, the same number that he finished with in 2009.
In his first three seasons in the NFL, Johnson tallied 34 rushing touchdowns, but he has just nine in 2011 and 2012. The Titans season concludes with a road game against the Green Bay Packers and a home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
