The Pittsburgh Steelers' season will end without a playoff appearance for just the third time in the last ten years, but it won't be because of their struggles on defense. The Steelers, who finished first in yards allowed this season, but the defense wasn't quite as stout as it has been in year's past, which made some wonder whether defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau would return to the team. While the Steelers finished the season first in yards allowed, they barely cracked the top ten in points allowed, and a lot of that had to do with their number 27 ranking in turnovers forced. One reason for the Steelers' defensive inconsistencies this season was the absence of safety Troy Polamalu, who missed ten games and never looked 100 percent in the games he did play. The Steelers finish out their season Sunday at home against the Cleveland Browns. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
