The Detroit Lions have made a habit out of dropping close games, and the trend continued against Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

The Detroit Lions dropped their fourth straight game Sunday and all four were winnable. Now at 4-8 and with no hope for the postseason, the focus for the Lions becomes finishing the 2012 season strong and heading into 2013 on the right note. As Sean Yuille of SB Nation’s Detroit Lions blog, Pride of Detroit, writes, despite the death of their playoff hopes, the Lions still desperately need to avoid collapsing as a team.
This turned out to be a back and forth game, but it really shouldn’t have been. The Lions had plenty of chances to pull away and win by a few scores, but they continually failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities. It’s been the theme of the entire season for the Lions, and it continued early and often on Sunday...The Lions are on the verge of completely collapsing as a team.
The Lions will look to right the ship against the division leading Green Bay Packers next week at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football. They have not won at Green Bay since 1991.
