Ryan Broyles injury: Lions WR tears ACL, done for season

Ryan Broyles has torn his ACL and will be out for the rest of the season for the Detroit Lions.

The Detroit Lions have lost wide receiver Ryan Broyles for the season, as Brad Galli of WXYZ-TV reports, via Twitter, that Broyles tore his ACL in his right knee. Broyles left Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts early in the first quarter. He was having it looked at on the sideline, then went into the locker room and did not return.

Broyles tore a ligament while he was a senior at Oklahoma, but it was in his left knee. Taking his place on the depth chart will be Mike Thomas, who had one reception for negative-one yards during Sunday's game.

Due to Broyles’ injury being very early in the game (within the first five minutes), Thomas played a good portion of the game. He was targeted four times and only managed that one reception for negative yardage, and dropped a pass over the middle that likely would have been a touchdown.

The Lions are going to Thomas due to Titus Young falling out of favor with the team and Nate Burleson being on injured reserve.
