NFC East injury report, Week 17: LG Kory Lichtensteiger likely ready for playoffs

The Washington Redskins had to use their backup left guard for the first time all year Sunday night, but starter Kory Lichtensteiger should be back for the playoffs.

Patrick McDermott

Kory Lichtensteiger missed playing time Sunday night for the first time all season, but the Washington Redskins' line still opened up holes for a dominant Alfred Morris in the team's 28-18 win against the Dallas Cowboys.

Lichtensteiger tore his ACL and MCL last year, but had played every snap at left guard in the team's first 15 games for the Redskins. Sunday night, however, he wasn't at the top of his game with a sprained left ankle. He sat, replaced by rookie Josh LeRibeus, who played in the second half. LeRibeus was making his NFL debut, and wasn't significantly worse than Lichtensteiger, although the team would obviously prefer to have their first option back for their NFC Wild Card game against the Seattle Seahawks. He'll likely be ready to go.

Safety DeJon Gomes missed Sunday night’s game with a sprained MCL and is questionable for the team’s first game.

Dez Bryant and Miles Austin both left the game for the Cowboys, but Austin came back and Bryant's back injury likely won't be a lingering issue with the team's season over.
