Broncos vs. Raiders final score: Denver easily handles Oakland, 26-13

The Denver Broncos had little trouble with the Oakland Raiders thanks to a 300-yard game from Peyton Manning and Oakland’s self-inflicted wounds.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The Week 14 contest between the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders went as most expected it would, with Denver coming out on top, 26-13. A fourth-quarter touchdown by Oakland opened up a sliver of a chance for them to climb back in, but Denver responded by driving down the field to wipe the remaining time off the clock.

Denver's offense was effective all night, and Peyton Manning collected a number of records as he ran over the Raiders. Manning threw his 5,000th completion and finished the night 26 of 36 for 310 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Knowshon Moreno posted a season-high 119 yards and had a touchdown, and Eric Decker hauled in 8 catches for 88 yards.

Oakland had trouble finding any momentum, going 2 of 8 on third down. An early drive fell apart when Carson Palmer threw an interception just outside the red zone, and a fumble by Palmer in the third quarter wasted a strong stand by the Oakland defense. The defense did their share to hamstring the Raiders, with what has to be the stat of the night: six Denver first downs came via penalty, part of the 11 collected by the Raiders for a total of 94 yards. Palmer finished 19 of 30 for 273 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. The Raiders also had trouble establishing the running game; Darren McFadden finished the night with 52 yards.

Manning and Moreno were big for their fantasy owners, and so was Denver's defense. Anyone who started Demaryius Thomas has to be disappointed, however, as the wide receiver left the game early on with a shoulder injury.

Favored by 10, Denver covered the spread with room to spare. The total comes in under the line of 47.

The Broncos face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15, and Oakland takes on the Kansas City Chiefs.
