One of the biggest games of the 2012 NFL season will take place on Monday night as the Houston Texans (11-1) and New England Patriots (9-3) battle for AFC supremacy.
NFL picks Week 14: Texans vs. Patriots
Experts weigh in on who they believe will win the Week 14 Monday night showdown between Houston and New England.
The game, which figures to be a shootout, pits the league’s No. 1 offense (Patriots) against the league’s No. 2 offense (Texans). Both squads have won six consecutive games, and Monday night’s clash could very well be a preview of the AFC championship game.
CBS Sports’ stable of NFL experts lean in favor of New England. Six of the site’s eight experts think Bill Belichick’s squad will come out on top. Clark Judge and Will Brinson are the only two experts to pick the Texans.
Three of Yahoo! Sports’ four experts think that the Patriots will walk away with a win, with Mike Silver being the only member of their NFL braintrust to pick the Texans.
SB Nation’s own Joel Thorman picks the Patriots to squeak by the Texans, 34-33, based on the Pats’ proclivity to succeed in big games on a big stage.
The Patriots are currently 3-point favorites.
Kickoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. ET on Monday night at Gillette Stadium and the game will be televised on ESPN.
