Robert Griffin III gets rocked during Redskins-Ravens game

Robert Griffin III is a lot of things. An amazing football player is one. He is also a bit bold at times. Against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, the Washington Redskins quarterback barely evaded defensive end Paul Kruger and launched the ball downfield. For his efforts, he was absolutely leveled by defensive tackle Haloti Ngata.

Ngata was flagged on the play, and could receive a fine from the league for the hit. RGIII doesn’t have many critics, but there are more than a few in the media who wring their hands over the rookie quarterback taking hits like this one. He suffered a concussion in an October loss to the Atlanta Falcons, but did not miss the next week’s game.

Griffin also has 122 yards passing and a touchdown in the first quarter. The Redskins may have to accept the cringe-inducing big hits in exchange for having one of the best young playmakers in the league.
