The Chicago Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Lightning completed a trade on Tuesday that sends forward Brandon Segal to Tampa for forward Matt Fornataro and future considerations. The Lightning made an official announcement on Twitter.

The 28-year-old Segal has scored 11 goals and notched 22 points in 92 career games over three NHL seasons with Tampa Bay, the Los Angeles Kings and the Dallas Stars. He signed with Chicago as a free agent in 2011 and has spent this season with the Blackhawks' AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs.
The Nashville Predators selected Segal in the fourth round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 102nd overall pick.
Fornataro, 26, has played 46 games with the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals this season. He has five goals and 20 assists. He has yet to make his National Hockey League debut.
