Former Rutgers Scarlet Knights wide receivers coach P.J. Fleck took the offensive coordinator job at Northern Illinois on Thursday. Fleck was a star receiver for NIU and previously served as an assistant coach there from 2007 to 2009. Our own Northern Illinois blog named him Huskie of the Decade. So it all sounded like the perfect fit and the beginning of beautiful, long-lasting relationship.

On Friday, he resigned.
NIU head coach Dave Doeren said in his statement that Fleck “called today and said he does not feel he’s ready to be an offensive coordinator.” Another source with the school said “It came out of the blue.”
Good for Fleck for recognizing his limits and wanting to adjust his car...what's that?...he's doing what?...taking the wide receivers coach job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with former Rutgers boss Greg Schiano instead? Oh...
Fleck better hope that the Bucs never play Northern Illinois, cause if they do, it’s gonna get ugly.
