Terrance Knighton Threatened To Shoot People After Fight, According To Police Report

Reports have begun to leak out about the nightclub incident that forced Jacksonville Jaguars DT Terrance Knighton to undergo eye surgery.

According to the Florida Times-Union, the police report from the night in question indicates that Knighton may not have been an innocent bystander in the melee:

The officer wrote that while outside the club “Knighton and his friend ‘Spoon’ repeatedly made threats to shoot people.” The report gives no indication any attempts to offer assistance were made for Knighton’s injuries. It says the club promoters had to “physically force the subjects into their vehicle.”

I’ve seen some pretty imposing bouncers in my day, but I’ve never seen anyone who could force a 6’3 335-pound NFL defensive tackle into his vehicle.

Knighton, who Wikipedia informs me goes by the nickname “Pot Roast,” is a third-year DT from Temple who has started 49 games for Jacksonville since being drafted in the third round in 2009.

He’s now awaiting word about whether NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will suspend him as part of the league’s conduct policy.
