Former New York Giants linebacker Jonathan Goff signed with the Washington Redskins on Monday. Goff was slated to start in the middle of the defense for the Super Bowl champs last season, but had to sit out the year after tearing his ACL in preseason. He is expected to take on a backup role with Washington, giving the Redskins valuable depth behind London Fletcher and Perry Riley.
Jonathan Goff Reaches Deal With Washington Redskins
Former New York Giants middle linebacker Jonathan Goff signed with the Washington Redskins on Monday.

The Giants traded for Keith Rivers in the offseason, essentially eliminating any chance that Goff would come back for his fifth season in New York. Goff was very productive two seasons ago, racking up 80 tackles and a sack in 16 games played. The Giants were reportedly ready to make a deal with the linebacker, but Goff wanted to test the waters in free agency and New York turned elsewhere during the process.
Also joining Goff in the Redskins' linebacking corps will be Lorenzo Alexander, recently-signed Bryan Kehl and fourth-round rookie Keenan Robinson out of Texas.
