Baltimore Ravens linebacker/defensive end Terrell Suggs injured his achilles, either playing basketball or training for the upcoming season doing some conditioning, but the injury occurred during NFL Draft weekend.

The hope is that Suggs does not have a full tear, and it's just a partial tear, which would allow him to play part of the 2012 NFL season. It's interesting, though, that Suggs' injury occurred after the Ravens drafted Alabama linebacker/defensive end Courtney Upshaw, who plays a similar position.
Missing Suggs will hurt the Ravens defense, but thankfully the Ravens were able to snap up a guy who plays the same position in the second round of the NFL Draft. Upshaw was expected to provide some defensive help early on, but now it’s possible that he will need to start.
