The New York Jets acquired quarterback Tim Tebow from the Denver Broncos in a trade over the offseason and came up with a slew of ways to use him on their football team, including on special teams. Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff told the New York Daily News that Tebow wil be a productive member of his unit.

Although Westhoff didn't reveal his exact plan, he called Tebow a "more potent Brad Smith" with an ability to make a difference on special teams.
Former Jet Brad Smith was used in wildcat situations, as a wide receiver and returned kicks for the Jets. Westhoff didn’t specifically reveal what Tebow will be doing, but in the past it has been noted that he will be a punt protector, a position that is often used in fake punts.
