Riley Cooper Injury: Eagles WR Out At Least 6 Weeks With Broken Collarbone

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper suffered a broken collarbone Saturday afternoon in practice and will miss at least six weeks of football for the Eagles and undergo surgery on Monday, according to head coach Andy Reid.

Reid said Cooper, who suffered a broken collarbone at practice on Saturday, will undergo surgery on Monday to have a plate inserted to stabilize the area but said it looks like it’s a six-week injury, which is good news for Cooper.

The Eagles open the regular season on Sept. 9 in Cleveland, which is exactly six weeks away.

According to Reid, the Eagles do not plan to add another wide receiver to their roster at this time and are happy with their remaining wideouts. While it’s possible Cooper could make it back in time for the Eagles’ regular season opener, it’s unlikely he will be able to play in that game.

Cooper caught 16 passes for 315 yards and a touchdown in 2011, but his biggest contribution for the Eagles comes on special teams.
