One of the longest-tenured head coaches in the NFL, Marvin Lewis will be sticking with the Cincinnati Bengals for a bit longer. His contract was set to expire at the end of the 2012 season, but thanks to the Bengals' surprise run to the playoffs last season, the team has extended his contract through 2014. Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer passed along the news, as well a quote from Lewis on his new deal.

Lewis has been the coach of the Bengals since 2003 and has accumulated a record of of 69-77-1, including postseason games, during his time with the team. He’s been thought of as a coach on the hot seat for much of his tenure, but he saved his job and then some when his team performed well above expectations in 2011.
