With the St. Louis Rams pulling out of the 2013 and 2014 games in London, the NFL is looking for a replacement team to play those games. Alfie Crow of the SB Nation blog Big Cat Country says that the Jacksonville Jaguars, who expressed interest in playing in the London games before the league chose the Rams, says that the Jaguars will likely volunteer for the two games.
Jaguars Make Sense As Rams Replacement In London
The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to volunteer for the newly-vacated 2013 and 2014 regular season games in London since the St. Louis Rams pulled out of playing both of them.
Back in June, Jaguars team president Mark Lamping said that a game out in London could help the visibility of the franchise.
“We think it will increase the profile of the franchise, and Jacksonville can use it to market the city. What’s good for Jacksonville is good for the Jaguars.”
While the Rams will play in this season's London regular season game against the New England Patriots, they will not play in London the next two seasons. The team cites wanting to focus on the First Tier Process of the Edward Jones Dome as the reason they will not play in London in 2013 and 2014.
