Shaun Rogers Has A Blood Clot In His Leg

Giants DT Shaun Rogers has blood clots in his leg, meaning he’ll likely need to prioritize his personal health rather than worrying about a speedy return to the football field.

Scary news for Shaun Rogers out of Giants' training camp, as the new acquisition for the squad at defensive tackle has a medical issue that supersedes football. Mike Garafolo, from the Star-Ledger:

Indeed, blood clots are bad news. The Super Bowl champions had hoped the three-time Pro Bowler could be a factor on the Giants’ always strong defensive line, but this would seem to throw a kink into Rogers’ chances of playing for now, as Rogers will need to be medically cleared to keep playing football. As of now, it’s unclear what the timetable for his injury looks like, but suffice it to say he’ll be missing some time. Hopefully, the Giants and Rogers can somehow figure out how to get this issue dealt with and have him back on the field without serious risk to Rogers’ future medical health. But for now, that’s the least of his worries.
