Brandon Jacobs Injury: MRI Shows ‘No Major Damage’ To Left Knee

The San Francisco 49ers received some good news about their suddenly crippled running back corps Sunday afternoon when Brandon Jacobs MRI showed "no major damage," according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Jacobs sustained the injury to his left knee after Houston Texans CB Kareem Jackson slammed into his leg following an eight yard run in Saturday's exhibition game. The former New York Giant had to be helped off the field and wasn't able to put any weight on his leg as he was assisted to the locker room, leading to speculation that the injury could be severe.

Following his 4 p.m. MRI, Jacobs tweeted “Good, Good, Good,” giving fans a ray of hope that Jacobs season wasn’t finished as many had feared.

Rapoport is reporting there is still no timetable for Jacobs return though. Luckily for the 49ers, running back LaMichael James, who also suffered an ankle injury of his own in the game, is not expected to miss any practice time.
