Adrian Peterson Could Play This Weekend

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said that his star running back, Adrian Peterson, could potentially play in the team's preseason game this weekend and that a determination on his status could be made by Tuesday or Wednesday, according to a press conference transcript made available on the team's website.

Peterson tore both the ACL and MCL in his left knee on Christmas Eve in 2011, but has been an active participant at Vikings’ training camp. Peterson was just 30 yards shy of eclipsing 1,000 yards rushing for the fifth consecutive season before he went down with the gruesome injury.

Despite how well he’s looked in camp, Frazier will continue to exercise caution with Peterson:

We’re going to give him a little bit more each day, see how he responds and continue to determine what is the next step. Just go day-to-day. We have some ideas of how we want to approach it but a lot of it is how he feels with some of the things we’re going to give him this week.
