Indianapolis Colts' wide receiver Austin Collie was forced to leave the game on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor hit Collie, who was attempting to catch a pass from rookie quarterback Andrew Luck.
Austin Collie Injury: Preseason In Doubt For Colts WR
Collie later wobbled to the sideline where he was taken to the locker room and evaluated for concussion symptoms, according to an IndyStar.com report:
In 2010, Collie suffered two concussions that ended his second season. He continues to tell me the only time he thinks about head trauma is when the media asks him about it, but Sunday only will fuel the fire and the concern over Collie’s long-term well being.
With the NFL taking a more active approach toward concussions and head injuries, Collie could very well be lost for the remainder of the Colts’ preseason.
