The eventual return of New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks will be a welcomed site for the organization, but its still unclear if he will return for his team's third preseason game against the Chicago Bears on Friday. That was the message the Giants' wide out gave the New York media after practicing for the first time this season Monday.
Hakeem Nicks Unsure If He’ll Play In Giants’ 3rd Preseason Game
“I still don’t know,” Nicks said. “They’ll see how it goes this week in practice, and then let me go out this Friday. But I think it’s going to be based on team doctors and a coach’s decision, and I’m all for whatever they decide. I know they’ll decide whatever is best for me.”
The strategy surrounding Nicks’ broken foot, an injury he’s been healing from since May, is to take it slow but its hard admitted Nicks.
“My mind is saying, ‘Take it easy, but at the same time still be smart about it.’ Still want to be on pace to make it back for the first [regular season] game. I don’t want to have any setbacks. That’s the mindset,” Nicks said. “Still want to progress at the same time, though. Get back into the shape that I would like to be in when it comes time for the first game.”
