John Skelton On Kevin Kolb, Cardinals QB Competition
John Skelton and Kevin Kolb continue their quarterback battle in Arizona with Skelton having the advantage heading into the Cardinals’ third preseason game.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton joined Dan Bickley and Mike Jurecki on XTRA Sports 910 in Phoenix to talk about his quarterback competition with Kevin Kolb and other topics heading into the Cardinals' third preseason game.
Skelton has stayed away from commenting too much on the battle. Kolb was the prized free agent signing last season and Skelton was supposed to be the backup. But Skelton proved he could hold his own last season and is doing it again now - yet he doesn’t feel that the race is anywhere near over.
“Those are people’s opinions. I’m just trying to get better day in and day out. I think you can see from the first game to the second to the third that I’ve progressively gotten better, so that’s really just been my goal.”
Heading into Thursday’s preseason game against Tennessee, Skelton doesn’t feel any added pressure, even if this could determine who gets the starting nod heading into the regular season.
“The pressure’s been there ever since Coach Whisenhunt announced that it was gonna be an open competition and I don’t see this game any different than the first practice of camp or anything like that.”
