Preseason Fights Don’t Count, Either

Preseason NFL games are awful tedious a horrible approximation of a normally-awesome thing important. They've got to get players prepared for everything they may expect during the regular season. During Sunday's game between the New York Jets and the Carolina Panthers, the players decided to practice fighting. It went about as well as everything else in the preseason does.

As you can see, Patrick Turner and Haruki Nakamura got into it a bit before Matt Slauson (No. 68) just shoved Nakamura to the ground. Then everyone hopped around a little bit and Nakamura took off his helmet.

Luckily, the replacement refs aren’t familiar with the “can’t take off your helmet, bro” rule and Nakamura was not flagged on the play. Everyone probably made up afterward and had Little Debbie cakes or something. I don’t know; who cares? It’s preseason football.
