Andy Dalton Is ‘Fine’ After Hand Injury

After leaving Thursday night's game against the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton told reporters the injury wasn't severe at all, and that he was "fine."

Dalton was hit by the Colts' Robert Mathis on just the Bengals' sixth play of the night, but the Cincinnati Inquirer's Joe Reedy is reporting that Dalton simply had his arm numbed by the hit, akin to someone hitting him in the funny bone, and should be fine for the start of the regular season and any activity leading up to it.

Bruce Gradkowski replaced Dalton for the Bengals while Dalton headed to the sideline. Initially, Dalton had trouble making it off the field, and collapsed on the sideline after staying down on the field after the play was over. The Bengals are up 16-14 on the Colts midway through the third quarter in both teams' final preseason game on Thursday night. Gradkowski threw for 95 yards and a touchdown in relief of Dalton.
