Mike Goodson Released From Hospital After Helmet-To-Helmet Hit

Oakland Raiders running back Mike Goodson has been released from the hospital following a helmet-to-helmet hit during practice on Tuesday. According to the team's press release (via Silver and Black Pride), Goodson is doing all right after the injury:

“The Raiders received encouraging news Tuesday night from doctors treating Mike Goodson, who left the practice field with a neck injury, with movement in his extremities, during the team’s training-camp practice. Goodson’s CT scan and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test were negative. He has returned to the team’s training-camp headquarters at the Napa Valley Marriott.”

As Levi Damien mentions, it is unknown when Goodson will return to practice, but missing a day or two is not out of the question.

Goodson is in the running to be Darren McFadden's backup this season. His 2011 season with the Carolina Panthers ended in November after a persistent hamstring injury forced him to the injured reserve list.
