Kubiak said Cushing was feeling much better and was expected to be a part of team meetings on Thursday night. He may also play in Houston’s first preseason game on Saturday. The Texans head coach said there’s a good chance the two-time All-Pro will be ready, according to HoustonTexans.com:

Cushing has been remarkably injury-free in his three years in the NFL. Since being drafted by the Texans in 2009, he’s missed just four of 48 possible regular season contests, and those four were the result of a suspension for testing positive for banned substances served at the beginning of the 2010 NFL season.
Cushing blamed overtrained athlete syndrome for the result that caused that positive test.
