Matt Schaub has been a great quarterback for the Houston Texans since they picked him up in 2007 from the Atlanta Falcons, and he is now just about guaranteed to spend the rest of his time in the NFL playing for the Texans. They signed Schaub to a four-year, $64 million contract extension following the Texans' win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 1 of NFL action.
Matt Schaub Excited To Finish His Career In Houston
Schaub was quoted on the Texans official website, saying he is very excited to finish his career with the team that he has excelled with the past several seasons:
“I’m excited to continue my career here in Houston and finish my career here,” Schaub said. “We have a tremendous organization, an owner (Bob McNair) that really owner that really cares about us as players and providing an environment to win, and I am extremely excited about that.”
The Texans have gotten great numbers out of Schaub in his time with the team, as he currently ranks in the top 10 in most quarterbacking numbers since he became the team’s starter. Most of the details of the 31-year-old’s new contract have not been released by Houston.
