Darrelle Revis Does Have ‘Mild Concussion’

The New York Jets announced on Monday morning that cornerback Darrelle Revis suffered a "mild" concussion during Sunday's regular season opener against the Buffalo Bills. While it was initially believed that the All-Pro had not sustained a concussion, further testing disproved that preliminary diagnosis.

As of this time, it’s unclear when Revis will be able to return. Head coach Rex Ryan was informed of the injury on Monday morning and stated that the 27-year-old corner looked good. However, he won’t be the only one determining his status for Week 2.

Revis is believed to have sustained the injury when teammate Bart Scott accidentally kicked him in the head while attempting to tackle Buffalo running back, C.J. Spiller. Revis remained on the field holding his head before he was escorted to the locker room by the Jets training staff.

Despite remaining in the locker room during post-game interviews, Revis did not address the media.
