NFL Injury Report: Redskins’ Brain Orakpo Could Miss Significant Amount Of Time

Presswire

The second week of the NFL regular season is in the books for the NFC East, and a few notable injures occurred during the thrilling Sunday that featured the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles earning victories, but the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins losing.

The most notable injury occurred to the Redskins' outside linebacker Brain Orakpo, who re-injured his shoulder/pectoral area in the Redskins' 31-28 loss against the St. Louis Rams. Orakpo admitted after the game that the injury was the same one he suffered in last season's regular-season finale that eventually required surgery. Orakpo is expected to be out for a significant amount of time.

Also suffering an injury for Washington was defensive end Adam Carriker, who seriously injured his right knee and is going to have an MRI on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Eagles witnessed their center Jason Kelce exit their 24-23 victory over the Baltimore Ravens with a sprained knee. Sources are saying Philadelphia could lose Kelce for the year.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was in-and-out of the game with a hip pointer, the same injury that kept him out of practice during the week.

The Giants saw injuries to running back Ahmad Bradshaw (neck), wide receiver Domenik Hixon (concussion) and right tackle David Diehl (knee) in their trilling 41-34 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bradshaw is expected to have a MRI on Monday, while Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio believes Diehl's has a MCL sprain.

As for the Cowboys, its seems like they came away unscathed in their 27-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
