Saint Louis Rams offensive tackle Rodger Saffold has a third-degree MCL sprain, according to Saint Louis reporter Tony Softli. Softli is reporting the injury is significant, "but not season ending."

Saint Louis Rams offensive tackle Rodger Saffold has a third-degree MCL sprain and is out indefinitely.

Saffold sustained the leg injury in the first quarter of the Rams' 31-28 victory over the Washington Redskins on Sunday. After quarterback Sam Bradford fumbled, Saffold recovered and advanced the ball seven yards before being tackled. The 6'5 offensive lineman crumpled to the turf and was helped off the field.
The third-year pro out of Indiana University has struggled to stay on the field for the Rams, as he also suffered a sprained neck two weeks ago against the Detroit Lions. After starting all 16 games for the Rams as a rookie, he missed the final seven games of 2011 with a pectoral injury.
Nine-year veteran Wayne Hunter replaced Saffold against the Redskins and may get the start in his place this week against the Chicago Bears.
